What You’ll learn from this workshop

You'll learn Power Automate from the ground up. Starting with what it is and where it fits into the Microsoft Power Platform. You'll then explore essential topics using fictional case studies to help build your knowledge before taking on a challenge to develop your own flows.

It's a quick fire workshop but offers a comprehensive pack of videos to watch back, which will help you build your own solutions.

What is Power Automate, and how can it be used to help you automate your work?

How to get started building Power Automate Flows?

What are Triggers & Actions, and understand why they are essential in Power Automate?

Learn how to capture different types of data to use within your Flows.

Understand how to use the out-of-the-box to speed up your development time.

Note: You'll need at least an entry level Microsoft 365 Licence if you want to follow along or build later (such as Microsoft365 Business Basics).

Understand how to structure Flows to make them easier to support and maintain.

Learn how to connect your Flows to other solutions, systems and services.

Alternatively: Join the Microsoft Developer Programme. It's free and provides a free, fully featured M365 licence to practice with.

Explore how to use validation and conditions to control the process in your Flows.

Discover how to publish your Flows and embed them into your business processes.

Another Way: Speak to your Microsoft 365 admin and ask for a licence to make Power apps, Power Automate Flows and SharePoint sites. They can arrange it.

Question: Do You Want to Accelerate Productivity In Your Organisation?

And have you heard of Power Automate or Microsoft 365?

In this 3 hour workshop, Jon introduces you to just how powerful Power Automate can be as a brain AND a workhorse behind improvements to processes in your business.

You'll experience a flavour of Collab365's tried and tested B.L.U.E (build it, learn it, use it, enhance it) model to get the most from the 3-hour workshop. We believe that instead of just watching for 3 hours, encouraging you to jump onto your Microsoft 365 tenant (with your admin approval) and build some great starter flows will give you a much richer learning experience.

The pace is quick however (there's a lot to cram in) so to help you, you'll receive the full pack of videos, along with PDF step-by-step guides to help you. You will also gain access to a dedicated Academy space where you can ask questions and get support any time.  There's lots of material to help you practice these flows in your own time.

Before you begin, you'll get a full, in-depth tour of how the main aspects of Power Automate work, how to set them up and use them, and also some hidden tips and tricks you may not know about.

You'll then go on to start working with examples of  :

  • How to Improve Onboarding for new team members
  • How to set up and use Approval workflows
  • What to do to improve team collaboration and communication using Power Automate
  • And more ....

This workshop is for the beginner.

You'll learn some new terms that you may not have known about before but your Coach will take time to explain and answer any questions you might have.

You'll also get the chance to follow along yourself and build the example flows. Our aim is to help you leave with a new confidence to go explore the options Power Automate can offer.

What is the Power Platform and why should I learn it?

This Power Automate focused Workshop is the first in a series of Workshops that will introduce you to the 4-established services in the Power Platform. The "Power Platform" is the name Microsoft uses to denote a set of services that help power users build solutions on top of Office 365 without any coding skills.

Power Apps

Power Apps is a suite of apps, services, connectors and a data platform that provides a rapid development environment to build custom apps for your business needs.

Power automate (Covered in this workshop)

Power Automate allows you to create automated workflows between a massive selection of services to synchronise files, get notifications, collect data, and more.

Power BI

Power BI allows you to visualise data from various data sources to build reports and dashboards. Many different controls enable you to present the data to make it easy to understand.

Power Virtual Agents

Power Virtual Agents lets you create chatbots that can respond to questions typed in by customers, other employees, or visitors to your website or service. BOTS can be created using a visual builder that requires no coding knowledge.

Why is the Power Platform an excellent career choice?

  • In-Demand: There's now massive demand for No-Code developers who can build solutions ranging from vacation booking to time recording apps.
  • Easy to Learn: In the Collab365 Academy, we welcome beginners. We've plenty of training material to lower you into the Power Platform as well as other complimentary services such as Teams and SharePoint.
  • It's great fun: Being able to build an application so quickly is rewarding and allows you unleash your creative side.
  • Work from home: As Power Platform solutions are all built (in the Cloud), it's really easy to work remotely and this is what many companies accommodate.
  • Well Paid: If you search for roles requiring Power Platform skills, it's not uncommon to see roles offering over $100K.
  • No need to code: Learning to be a developer, who can code proficiently, can take years. The Power Platform has been created to support business users who have no-coding knowledge. You can build a very powerful application in days not months/years.
  • It's the future-proof: Over the next few years, we're going to see a world where many jobs disappear through automation. Having skills that are in-demand will ensure longevity in your career.
